Processing 304 316l Stainless Steel Pipe With Slotted Variable Diameter Head Shrinking Tip Sandblasting And Marking
Product Description
Custom 304/316L Stainless Steel Tubing with Slotting, Diameter Changing, End Capping/Sealing, Necking, Sandblasting, and Marking is a full-cycle, precision fabrication service that produces highly engineered tubular assemblies. This comprehensive process transforms standard tubing into complex, ready-to-use components by integrating multiple value-added operations: precision slotting, controlled diameter transitions, end forming for sealing or connecting, necking (reducing) of specific sections, uniform sandblasting for a matte finish and surface preparation, and permanent laser marking for identification. This all-in-one solution is ideal for creating durable, corrosion-resistant parts with specific functional geometries and traceability for demanding industrial and instrumentation applications.
Product Processing
Material Selection & Initial Cut: Certified 304 or 316L stainless steel tubing is selected based on application requirements. The tube is cut to the required oversize length.
Slotting & Perforation: Using precision fiber laser cutting or CNC milling, slots, holes, or patterns are machined into the tube wall at designated locations.
Diameter Changing & Forming:
Swaging/Reduction: Sections of the tube are cold-formed using dies to create precise diameter reductions (necking) or tapers.
End Forming: Tube ends are formed to create sealed heads (domed caps) or expanded/flared connections using spinning or press forming.
Heat Treatment (Stress Relief): After cold forming operations (swaging, necking, end forming), the parts typically undergo a stress relief annealing process to restore material ductility and prevent cracking.
Sandblasting (Bead Blasting): The entire component is uniformly sandblasted using fine media (e.g., glass bead or aluminum oxide). This cleans the surface, creates a consistent matte finish, improves paint/adhesive adhesion, and removes minor imperfections.
Laser Marking: Permanent, high-contrast markings are applied using a fiber laser. This can include part numbers, logos, batch codes, size specifications, or orientation indicators. The marking penetrates the blasted surface for durability.
Cleaning, Passivation & Final Inspection: Post-blasting residue is removed through cleaning. A chemical passivation process (per ASTM A967) is applied to restore maximum corrosion resistance. Each part undergoes final dimensional and visual inspection.
Product Applications
Fluid Handling & Instrumentation: Custom manifold assemblies, gauge guards, sensor housings, and sample probes where slots are for mounting/venting, reduced diameters are for fitting attachments, and marked for identification.
Architectural & Design Elements: Decorative railing components, furniture legs, or lighting fixtures with patterned slots, tapered profiles, a uniform matte finish, and discreet branding.
Automotive & Aerospace: Lightweight ducting or hydraulic lines with integrated mounting brackets (slots), formed ends for connections, and permanent part marking for traceability.
Industrial Machinery: Adjustable sleeves, spacers, or protective covers requiring specific end forms, reduced sections for locking, and a non-glare finish.
Food & Beverage Processing: Sanitary pipe fittings or supports with cleanable matte surfaces, identification marking, and custom end forms.
