304/316L Stainless Steel Capillary Slotted and Graduated Puncture Needles are high-precision, multifunctional micro-instruments designed for procedures requiring exact fluid measurement and controlled access. These needles combine the fine bore of a capillary tube with a longitudinally slotted "window" that functions as a visual scale for volumetric reading. The sharp, precision-ground tip ensures clean penetration of septa or tissues. Manufactured from either 304 (general purpose) or 316L (enhanced corrosion resistance) stainless steel, they offer durability, biocompatibility, and a smooth, electropolished finish. Product Processing

  1. Material Selection & Capillary Drawing: High-purity 304 or 316L stainless steel tubing is precision cold-drawn to achieve the specified ultra-fine inner and outer diameters with a mirror-like internal surface finish.

  2. Precision Slot Milling (Scale Window Creation): A clean, longitudinal slot is machined along a defined section of the tube using ultra-fine laser cutting or precision micro-milling. The slot edges are meticulously deburred and polished to optical clarity.

  3. Laser Etching of Graduations: High-resolution laser etching is used to apply permanent, clear graduation marks (in microliters (µL), milliliters (mL), or millimeters (mm)) directly onto the needle body adjacent to the slot. Numbers are etched for easy reading.

  4. Tip Grinding & Forming: The distal end is ground to a specific, sharp point geometry (e.g., lancet for piercing, pencil point for non-coring applications). The grinding process maintains the needle's concentricity.

  5. Surface Finishing & Passivation: The entire needle undergoes electropolishing, achieving a smooth, inert, and highly corrosion-resistant surface both internally and externally. A final passivation treatment (per ASTM A967) is applied.

  6. Calibration & Cleaning: For critical applications, the volumetric scale can be calibrated against a traceable standard. The needle then undergoes intensive ultrasonic cleaning in a controlled environment.

  7. Inspection & Packaging: 100% inspection of dimensions, slot clarity, graduation accuracy, and tip sharpness. Packaged individually in protective cleanroom packaging.
